Wendy returned to Manila on January 17, 2025, for the final leg of her first world concert tour, “W:EALIVE,” held at the New Frontier Theater.
This landmark performance marked the Red Velvet member’s first-ever solo concert in the Philippines.

The tour, which kicked off in Seoul last September, traveled through Taipei, Tokyo, San Francisco, Chicago, and New York before its grand conclusion in Manila.
Wendy set the stage ablaze as she opened the night with a high-energy trifecta: “Fireproof,” “Hate2,” and “Queen of the Party.” The atmosphere shifted beautifully during her “Lovely set,” where she charmed the audience with the sweet, melodic tones of “Why Can’t You Love Me,” “Best Ever,” and “Chapter You.”

Taking a moment to connect with the crowd, Wendy expressed her awe at the deafening cheers echoing through the venue. She also shared her love for local flavors, mentioning her delight in trying Filipino staples like Jollibee and Adobo, much to the delight of the local fans.
A Masterclass in High Notes and Raw Talent
The night truly belonged to Wendy’s unparalleled vocal ability. Known as one of the industry’s premier vocalists, she transformed the venue into a cathedral of sound. What made the night unforgettable was the ease with which she tackled complex runs and “killing parts.” Her crystalline high notes during the climax of her songs didn’t just fill the room—they resonated deep within the hearts of the audience, proving why she is a vocal powerhouse.

Fans were left in awe as she transitioned seamlessly from powerful, belting crescendos to delicate, airy head voice. It wasn’t just technical perfection; it was the way her talent felt “alive” in the room. Every high note was met with a wave of goosebumps, solidifying the evening as a testament to her years of dedication and natural gift.
Emotional Tributes and K-Drama Magic
The emotional core of the concert arrived when Wendy performed “His Car Isn’t Yours,” “Better Judgement,” and “Vermilion.” Visibly moved, she poured her heart into “Like Water,” “When This Rain Stops,” and “Believe,” dedicating the latter to the fans who have stayed by her side.

A standout moment for many was the OST segment. Wendy serenaded the crowd with her most beloved soundtrack hits, including “Goodbye,” “Because I Love You,” “If I Could Read Your Mind,” and “Two Words.” Her voice, often described as a “warm hug,” brought the magic of K-drama scenes to life.
Red Velvet Nostalgia and An Unprecedented Finale
A Wendy concert wouldn’t be complete without a nod to her roots. When she performed the Red Velvet fan-favorite “Light Me Up,” the energy shifted instantly, bringing the entire crowd to their feet.
The encore was a marathon of hits, starting with “Wish You Hell,” “Best Friend,” “The Road,” and “EXISTENTIAL CRISIS.” Refusing to let the night end, Wendy granted an “encore-encore,” performing “Vermillion,” “Hate2,” and “Wish You Hell” once more.

Wendy further demonstrated her appreciation by reading a letter dedicated to her fans, a gesture that brought her to tears.
Following this emotional tribute, she extended her gratitude to the band, the promoters, and the production crew who made the tour a success.
Just when the lights seemed ready to fade, Wendy surprised everyone. In a final act of gratitude, she walked throughout the venue, greeting fans from the SVIP rows all the way up to the balcony seats, ensuring everyone felt her appreciation.
