K-pop star Sunmi returns to Manila for the launch of the Samsung Galaxy’s first AI phone.
Manila, Philippines – Sunmi, a former member of Wondergirls, graced the stage at the ‘Samsung Galaxy AI Festival Launch’ held in BGC, Taguig on January 27.
Fans started cheering as soon as Sunmi appeared on stage. She talked about the new Samsung Galaxy S24 and expressed her happiness at being back in the Philippines.
“I’m so excited to be part of the launch.” “I’m really happy right now!” Sunmi said.
She also mentioned how impressive the photos taken with the Galaxy S24 Ultra are, especially at night.
Despite the rainy weather, the fans persevered and continued to watch the event, cheering for the K-pop sensation. After a short break, she returned to the stage and performed “Stranger,” “24 Hours,” “Siren,” “Pporappippam,” and concluded the show with her hit song “Gashina.”

Meanwhile, Miss Universe 2018, model, and TV personality Catriona Gray also attended the event and shared how much she enjoyed and loves the new Samsung Galaxy S24 phone.
“I’ve been excitedly discussing the Galaxy S24 for the past week.” Generative AI technology is an incredible innovation! “I was hoping that this existed when I was in school because some of the features in the Galaxy S24 are going to streamline your productivity, creativity, and gaming experiences when you want to relax, because of course, we can’t just work and not play over here!” she said.
The festival also offered a free concert featuring top local artists, such as beatmaker CRWN, who made the crowd dance with his amazing remix of K-pop songs.
Solo artist Jess performed played her hit songs “2AM,” and “Wait” alongside with DJ Butta B.
Filipino band Lola Amour captivated the audience with their unreleased song and popular hits, such as “Raining in Manila.”
