Manila, Philippines – The much-awaited concert featuring South Korean stars aespa, The Boyz and Girls’ Generation leader Tayeon lived up to the expectations as they captivate the fans in their two-hour K-verse Manila concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 11.
aespa’s Manila debut
The Filipino Mys have been waiting for this day to come as this is the group’s debut here in the country.
The four-member group composed of Karina, Winter, Ningning, and Gisele debuted in November 2020 with their first single “Black Mamba”.
aespa started the show with “Black Mamba” followed by “Illusion”, “Life’s Too Short”, “Lingo” and “Savage” which made the fans scream.
The audience also sang “Happy Birthday” to aespa’s leader Karina who is celebrating her birthday on the same day. “You guys are my gift”, said Karina after thanking the crowd.
The group also shared that they enjoyed the food, hospitality and their stay here in the Philippines. “We thank you all for spending your time with us and we’ll make sure that aespa will come back,” said Winter before performing their last song.
The return of The BOYZ
Eleven members of The BOYZ returned to the country from their last visit from their “The Castle” Asia tour in June 2019.
THE BOYZ immediately made their presence felt by starting their set with “ROAR”.
Member Sunwoo also received a birthday greeting and Song from the crowd who will turned 23 on April 12.
The energetic boy group continued with their hits “Maverick”, “Salty”, “The Stealer”, “Dancing Till We Drop”, and “Thrill Ride”.
THE BOYZ said that they are happy to be back after four long years. “Masaya ako na makita kayong muli” (I am happy to see you all again) , said member Kevin.
A promise from Queen Taeyeon
After 5 years after her 2018 solo concert in Manila, SNSD’s leader Taeyeon is back to meet her fans.
The final set of the show started with Taeyeon singing “I”, followed by “Toddler”, “Set Myself on Fire”, “Four Seasons”, and “What Do I Call You”.
Taeyeon debuted in August 2007 in Girls’ Generation and is one of the most famous and best-selling artists in South Korea.
She is also a solo artist known for her angelic voice and her K-Drama OST songs including “All About You” (Hotel Del Luna), “Closer” (To The Beautiful You), “Missing You Like Crazy” (The King 2 Hearts) and more.
In her interview she said that the love and support from the fans are the reasons why she continues and is still in the industry.
The fans also started chanting “Solo Con” (Solo Concert) and Taeyeon made a promise that she will come back for a Solo Concert in the future.
Taeyeon finished the set by performing “INVU” as she bid her farewell to everyone. “It’s been so long since I have experienced and felt the love and passionate cheers from you all. And tonight I really heated up and I’m enjoying tonight really much”.
