Manila, Philippines – In the heart of Manila, these lyrics came to life when Norwegian sensation Anna of the North graced the stage.
“Show a little love.” “Shine a little light on me.”
The presence of this alternative/indie artist was the highlight of the night, leaving an indelible mark on her Filipino fans during her Crazy Tour at House Manila in Pasay City on Friday, September 29, 2023.
The Philippines had the privilege of being the final stop on the tour, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The event was more than just a concert; it was a journey into Anna of the North’s captivating world.
This magical evening featured an array of performances by European artists, but none could quite match the energy and charisma of Anna herself.
Joining her on stage were Denova and Rebmoe, with the latter being one of Anna’s closest friends in the industry.
Anna’s setlist was a rollercoaster of emotions, ranging from the enchanting “Nobody” to the dreamy “Dream Girl” and the soulful “My Love.”
She didn’t forget to infuse some cinematic magic with “Meteorite” and, of course, the beloved “Lovers,” her hit song and one of the original soundtracks of ‘To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.’
For Anna, it marked her inaugural visit to the Philippines, but she vowed it wouldn’t be her last.
The warmth and enthusiasm of the Filipino crowd left a lasting impression on her, and she conveyed this sentiment by saying, “It may sound cliché, but Filipinos are the best crowd.”
As the captivating intro for ‘Lovers’ filled the venue, the crowd erupted into a harmonious chorus, their voices merging with Anna’s in a magical moment of unity.
The highlight of the night was when Anna of the North captivated her fans with her performance of ‘Believe’ by Cher. She serenaded the audience, danced, and even took selfies with them. It was a moment of pure connection and celebration.
As the final notes of the concert reverberated through the air, Anna of the North took a moment to express her gratitude, thanking every soul in the audience for making the night unforgettable.
For fortunate attendees at the exclusive after-concert session, they had the opportunity to have their posters and CDs personally signed by the artist herself.
As someone who wouldn’t typically classify themselves as an indie music enthusiast, Anna of the North’s performance transcended genres, offering a unique and captivating musical journey.
Even days later, I find myself on cloud nine, relishing the memory of an unforgettable night under the spell of Anna’s ethereal melodies.”
